Lakota was adopted into a show home, but had to be returned because he needs pasture turnout daily to make sure he stays comfortable. An old injury from before he came to Serenity flared up and the farm began tests immediately- x rays, ultrasounds, etc- no cost was spared to try to make him comfortable and find the root of his issues. He was adored by the show barn. Unfortunately, the vets cannot predict the potential for healing when it comes to this sort of fracture, they feel he needs pasture turnout and said he cannot be ridden/bear weight (or pull a cart) and probably never will.
But he gets along so well with people of all ages, and loves other horses- he has never had an issue with a horse he has pastured with. He'd be a great buddy for horse, he'd love to make sure they always had a friend. Won't you give him a home?

Lakota's Intake Photos
Lakota the day he was rescued (from the pen he was rescued from with Sequoia)

Lakota arrives at Serenity- frightened and sick internally and externally. His tail was dreaded into mats of feces. We let him stay in a stall with Sequoia the first few days to settle him in, he had never been handled.
