Details

Trina is sweet, we have adored her from day one. She is still rideable, though the vet says she appears about 30 (she thinks she is much younger). Volunteers ride her on trails and she loves to go. She is sound and would love some light riding and kids to adore her!

BELOW: A photo journey of Trina's rehabilitation:

Trina was adopted on July 26th and we could not be prouder of the tremendous changes in this sweet mare. She is now sleek, healthy and impressive (especially for a horse of 30 years old). She arrived in late March to SERR and was in desperate need of a lot of medical attention. We had a veterinarian see her immediately, he stated that this as the absolute worst case of rain rot he has seen in over 15 years. Absolute neglect at its most horrific. She actually smelled horrible, the rotting and disease of her skin was so infected and foul. Our hearts broke to see a horse in this condition. Trina is as sweet as can be, a gentle mare with a very kind heart. She was so happy to get a warm blanket and plenty of food, as well as some desperately needed medical attention. We worked hard with Animal Control to help make sure that charges were brought against her former owner for her terrible condition.

Trina heads in for her first good meal in a very long time, we are so glad we can help her now. If you are interested in adopting Trina when she is ready, or sponsoring her now, email us at trina@cowgirlyranch.com

May 8th- Update

Trina is coming along in so many ways- look at her back... even her face shows how much happier and healthier she feels. This is only after about a 5 weeks at SERR.

May 20th- even more of the skin condiiton is gone, and Trina continues to feek GREAT!

June Update- can you believe this is the same horse? Trina is now one happy, healthy horse. She is looking and feeling good. This sweet mare is worth every penny we spent to save her, and every moment spent grooming and caring for her. And she's looking for her forever home to retire at (she is close to 30)
